Amazon says all the mobile phone bought on or after February 7 will no longer be eligible for a return and full refund.
The new policy is applicable to all mobile devices fulfilled by Amazon. As per the new policy, only defective or damaged mobile phones will be eligible for replacement. Amazon says the replacement will be applicable only for 10 days from the date of delivery of the mobile phone.
Amazon.in's 'About Our Returns Policies' page reads "All Mobile phones that are fulfilled by Amazon, purchased on or after 7th February 2016, will have a replacement only policy. Mobile phone items that are fulfilled by Amazon will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged mobile phone, you will be eligible for a free replacement." It also adds, "Damaged/ Defective items must be returned in the original condition they were received in with all the accompanying accessories."
Amazon may have considered people taking undue advantage of its older returns policy and must have brought out this change. The return and refund policy has allowed users to give back products they might not have liked in the past, but it seems the e-commerce giant is cracking down when its comes to mobiles.
The new policy also means that a user must keep the mobile phone ordered from Amazon India even if it's not great in terms of performance. Amazon's biggest competitor Flipkart offers a 30-day return policy on most products, but that might change soon.
